You have most likely heard about the peanut butter recall that is currently taking place across the country. According to the Food & Drug Administration (FDA)“The FDA, along with the CDC and state and local partners, is investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Senftenberg infections linked to certain Jif peanut butter products manufactured at JM Smucker Company facilities in Lexington, Kentucky.

This recall put an end to most peanut butter products, not just at Disney, but across most of the country and recently a Disney restaurant was forced to retire one of its most popular items. .

At Disney’s Beach Club Resort, guests can treat themselves to the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop with ice cream and wildly decadent creations. Unfortunately, a delicious dish is no longer served on the menu due to the peanut butter recall.

The No Way Jose sundae, which is a “hot peanut butter and fudge delight with chocolate vanilla ice cream, peanut butter and chocolate chunks, whipped cream and a cherry” has been removed from the menu. Disney guest Sharla M. confirmed this yesterday after trying to order one.

It also affected Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs, with the bakery’s official Facebook account sharing the following statement:

I’m in a bit of a pickle. All of our wonderful limited flavors this month are peanut butter based, and due to the recall, all PB bulk stock coming into the state has been slowed down. We need hundreds of books a day and have none. So officially there are no PB-based desserts in the shop, aka Peanut Butter Crunch, Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl and the fantastic PB&J Cake Slices. This issue probably won’t be resolved until next week, and it will take us a few days to get production back on track because, as you know, everything we do is handmade and takes over 24 hours to prepare. If my tears could turn into peanut butter, you’d all have a lifetime supply of them.

To compensate, we will be adding more Coffee Cakes and Black Coffee Cakes to BOTH stores starting Wednesday, available at opening while supplies last. This cookie is limited because it takes so long to create, so we may not be able to store it for long. Keep an eye on the stream and stories for flavor replacement updates ahead of the weekend. To replace the PB&J Cake Slice Until This Ends…drum roll…the original Red Velvet Cake Slices are back! Cream cheese is back!!⁣
