Farzi Cafe in Hyderabad has a new menu that offers a modern twist to delicious Indian dishes

When the conversation is about fusion cuisine in the city, Cafe Farzi is certainly the first name that comes to mind. The restaurant is known for its modern techniques of presenting traditional Indian dishes. So when they invited us to try their new menu, our expectations were pretty high.

We were greeted with the chef’s complimentary appetizer, a bite of mango and a sphere of yogurt. The sphere exploded in our mouths and was refreshing.

Quick choices

We started our meal with Creamy Marine Bisque, a classic French soup. It was hot, creamy and offered an explosion of flavors. We were initially skeptical about its taste notes, but we were delighted with its subtle seafood flavors.

From the appetizers section, we opted for the Yam Galouti With Ulta Tawa Paratha. The vegetarian galouti skewers were chewy, spicy and the tawa-fried parathas added the right crunch.

Our next choice was the Smoke Pepper Chicken Tikka and when we say that they are the best chickens tikkas we tasted for a while, we are not lying. The chicken was tender, juicy, and smoked to perfection. Both starters were accompanied by a spicy green chutney.

Lazily and chicken, do you like it?

Moving quickly to the main course, we were spoiled for choice with options like pulao and biryani. But, as we were curious how the chef would add a gourmet touch to a regular South Indian breakfast dish, we opted for the Andhra Chilli Chicken. Thatte Idli With micro-herbs. The idli was topped with ghee, podi, and green chili chicken. The curry was heartwarming and the addition of green peppers added a touch of spice to the plate. This is the perfect combination for those who really love Indian curries.

More coffee, please!

Our next dish was the deconstructed filter Kappi Tiramisu. The dessert was light, creamy and the filter coffee mousse made it an absolute winner for us.

The verdict? Farzi Cafe comes out of the park with this menu that offers a touch to traditional cuisine. Take our advice and head to the quaint lanes of Jubilee Hills and you won’t be disappointed.
