H Tasting Lounge presents a new “Taste of Asia” cocktail menu

In the spring of 2019, Tasting room H (HTL) – The Westin Bayshore Vancouverpopular destination for its upscale libations and regionally inspired tasting plates – unveiled a beachfront patio that instantly became a favorite perch for countless guests from near and far. Featuring both waterfront and fireside seating, the outdoor space is one of Vancouver’s gems, offering stunning views of Coal Harbor and the North Shore mountains, as well as easy access direct to the Vancouver Seawall.

And now, for summer 2022, HTL is thrilled to present a new list of cocktails and creative dishes that complement the season perfectly. outside noon and night.

The Taste of Asia The cocktail menu offers a range of drinks with exceptional attention to detail and rich, complex flavors.

The centerpiece of HTL’s summer drinks menu is Cycles, a flight of three cocktails, each consisting of different varieties of Japanese shochu artfully combined with fruits, spices, teas and other premium liquors. Cycle through the three cycles of the cocktail experience or select one to enjoy. Morning – Asa highlights shochu rice and a homemade sake vermouth served martini style. Afternoon – Hiro highlights sweet potato shochu, melon and 05 Chiran Sincha served like a Japanese highball. Finally, the Evening – Prohibition is a version of a hot toddy with aged barley shochu, roasted barley tea, ginger honey and spices, served hot in a ceramic mug on a bed of stones with dry ice and burning incense.

With a neat presentation that does not fail, each libation of the new menu has its place in your camera roll. For instance, White Rabbit Hangover Remedy is served in a delicate rabbit-shaped ceramic glass. And, jungle japes, which pays homage to the Jungle Bird cocktail and is served in a whimsical monkey mug and decorated with banana-shaped candies; this blend combines rum and campari with the tropical sweetness of roasted coconut rambutan. The flavor explosion matches the excitement of beating Donkey Kong’s first level, Jungle Japes!

HTL’s culinary offerings have been designed with both the season and the diverse flavors of the Pacific Northwest in mind. Savor new additions to the menu such as the yellowfin tuna tataki with soba noodle salad and shoyu caviar; seared Pacific salmon in lemony white wine with fresh dill and watercress; and traditional bao buns filled with intensely flavorful char siu. These join longtime HTL favorites such as fresh BC oysters, burrata with local heirloom tomatoes, Pacific crab cakes and the legendary seafood tower.
