When Indigo Delicatessen opened in 2019, months before the world succumbed to a deadly virus, deli fans were thrilled. After all, the casual fine dining restaurant had arrived in town after 14 long years of starting out in the country. Cut to 2022, the deli, known for its comforting European and American bites, has made new additions to its menu and we couldn’t be happier to relax at one of our favorite food stations serving steaks, burgers and amazing selections. homemade ice cream.
A hot cup of Earl Gray immediately put us at ease and soothed our scratchy throats. Understated décor marked by the signature blue adds to the casual dining experience at this 70-seat all-day cafe in the Quest Mall. Starting with the last batch, we started with a citrus green salad which was fresh with a nice sweet and sour balance. The peppercorns added that extra zing to the leafy, fruity appetizer. Salad was part of the dish of the day which also had mouth-watering options including soy beef with tamarind, pork chop with polento and baby mutton shanks. We found Egg Divinity to be the perfect match for an English breakfast with a thin poached egg smothered in sunny hollandaise sauce dripping onto a perfectly stacked muffin. Quite similar to the popular Egg Benedict, it is served with caramelized onions which add a sweet note to the small bite.

Moving on to the big bites further, we headed to the Italian section and enjoyed the smoked three pepper and three cheese pizza. The bonhomie of three types of Bhavnagiri peppers with cheddar, smoked scarmoza and mozzarella makes this ever-popular dish incredibly delicious. Beef lovers should try their tenderloin pizza which hits all the right notes with its blue cheese. There’s also the three cheese lamb burger which is big, juicy and meaty, the three factors that top our checklist when it comes to the perfect burger. This particular interpretation makes this deli the go-to place for multi-layered burgers in the city.
For the sweet-toothed sweet tooth with a thing for chocolates, there’s this dense, gooey Mud Cake that’s pure indulgence. Also, don’t forget to try their homemade ice cream with unique flavors like Tabasco strawberry sorbet, cranberry cheesecake and mocha caramel among many others.
