What’s the latest menu at Qantas’ First Class Lounge? This is a surprisingly common question among high profile frequent travelers who start their journey from the Qantas International First lounges in Sydney and Melbourne.
And with the reopening of these two lounges by Qantas – November 1 for Sydney and November 6 for Melbourne – there’s a new menu for pre-flight meals.
And that’s decidedly different from the menus of the days before the pandemic, because for at least the next few months, Qantas International Business lounges will remain closed.
This means that Qantas First Class Lounges will host everyone who usually headed to the business lounge, including:
- Qantas Business Class Travelers
- Frequent travelers of Qantas Platinum One, Platinum and Gold
- Qantas Club Members
- business class travelers on Oneworld and partner airlines (such as Qatar Airways and Emirates)
- Frequent travelers Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire
- Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold frequent flyers
Reflecting this shift from being an exclusive hideaway for First Class and frequent Platinum travelers, the latest menus at Qantas First Lounges in Sydney and Melbourne have been temporarily revamped to accommodate these being less of a lounge. purely first class and more of a “premium lounge”.
We say this by setting expectations for these menus which, for obvious reasons, have been significantly reduced as business class lounges remain closed. (And before asking: yes, the cocooning day spa at the First Lounge also remains closed for the moment.)
Executive traveler understands that menus will still change slightly over the months, reflecting the seasonal availability of different products.
As you might expect, the menus retain some of Qantas First Lounge’s favorites, such as the iconic salt and pepper squid and the highly Instagramable “pavlova in a glass”.
And while the first weeks of Qantas flights from Sydney and Melbourne will only see afternoon and evening departures, the airline has also prepared a breakfast menu in anticipation of morning flights take off. .
