Off the menu: Veterans Day offers available at restaurants

It has become traditional for the restaurant world to honor those who have answered a call to serve their country on Veterans Day, November 11. Whether that thank you comes in the form of a discount, a free drink, or a free meal, the industry is often generous with its appreciation.

Attendees at Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar look forward to expressing their thanks to active-duty military and veterans with a special Veterans Day menu selection. Contact your Applebee branches for details on how they handle the promotion.

Dunkin ‘honors the military community, both active and retired, with a free donut on November 11. no further purchase necessary.

Participating Chili’s Grill & Bar establishments provide complimentary meals to Veterans (and active duty personnel) on Veterans Day. Meal selections can be prepared from a special menu that includes Chicken Chips, Grilled Chicken Margarita, Just Bacon Burger, and more. Dining room only; no take out order is eligible.

On Veterans Day, it is customary for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurants to offer veterans a free slice of the chain’s Double Chocolate Coca Cola cake. When ordering online, use the code “VETSDAY21”.

Friendly’s Restaurants will provide its All-American meal (the All-American Burger, fries and a drink) free of charge to veterans and active duty military personnel on Veterans Day.

Red Robin shows its appreciation during the first two weeks of November, offering active duty personnel and veterans a free “Reds Double Tavern Burger”. The offer, which requires a valid ID, is valid until November 14, 2021.

Breakfast is served in Denny’s house on Veterans Day morning, as participating locations offer serving and non-serving military personnel a free Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast. Offer valid only on presentation of ID, must be for consumption in the restaurant and is valid from 5 a.m. to noon on November 11 only.

The original American wing, Hooters, offers a free meal from a special Veterans Day menu to service members, active or off. The meal is to be consumed on the spot and a drink must be purchased with it.

Side dishes: Restaurants offer a “bo-go” for Veterans Day. Veterans and active duty military personnel will receive free entry from a special Veterans Day menu with the purchase of additional entry at regular price. The offer is valid from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on November 11.

All of these offers may be limited by the participation or not of a specific location; checking in advance with a restaurant is a wise precaution. In addition, the free offers are generally reserved for consumption in the restaurant and a valid military ID is often required.

Ludlow’s Vanished Valley Brewing Company is hosting a “Go Stuff Yourself” Fall Beer Dinner on November 17th. you do not regret.

The dining experience will feature options that are riffs on holiday tradition as well as tasty pairings with the Vanished Valley beers served alongside.

The first course is a crusted brie with a beer-based jelly; this starter will be followed by pumpkin ravioli drizzled with sage butter.

Max’s Tavern at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield announced its 11th Annual Max Teddy Bear Brunch.

The brunch, which will take place on Sunday, December 5, will have two seats, one at 10 a.m. and a second at noon.

Brunch is being held for the benefit of Ronald McDonald House, and guests 12 and under are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to be donated to this property.

Brunch is $ 40 for children under 12; adults pay $ 45 plus tax and ticket brokerage fees added to both prices.

Lattitude Restaurant in West Springfield won’t be open on Thanksgiving Day, but chef-owner Jeff Daigneau is offering to help with the holiday dinner by promoting his own brand of Thanksgiving take-out.

Two full dinner options are offered, one for four and a second for eight. Each dinner package includes a whole turkey (baked or oven-ready) with gravy, stuffing, roasted garlic mashed potatoes and plenty of side dishes to complete the feast. An apple, pumpkin or pecan pie is also included.

On Friday, November 19 at 6 pm, mead maker Kevin West will be leading an educational program on “Cooking and Eating with Mead”.

The Delaney House will offer traditional ‘sit-down’ service with a four-course menu that includes several choices of entrees such as turkey, salmon, pork chops, prime rib and a vegan casserole.

A soup station, salad bar and seafood tower will all be available for early-meal enjoyment; a carving station will be filled with slowly roasted turkey, ham and beef sirloin.

Hot options and extra sides will be available, as will a separate buffet of kids’ favorites. To end the feast, a large dessert table will also be part of the layout.

As part of its “Cooking with Confidence” series, HCC Business and Workforce Development will introduce chef Tracy Carter at an educational evening titled “Noni’s Italian Kitchen”.

The goal of the hands-on program will be to recreate a traditional Italian-American menu from scratch, including a homemade Caesar dressing for the salad, a layer of pasta with a robust meat sauce and bechamel cream as the main course, and almond flavored cookies for dessert.
