Sushi lovers in the city will know that Saiko Sushi House offers a rather splendid array of Japanese and Pan-Asian delicacies. Just a few months into town, Cloud Kitchen has already introduced a few new additions to its menu. They sent us a series of Sushi rolls and ramen as part of their latest offerings and here is our first impression.
Their charge Sushi roll, Shrimply The Best, came with Cajun seasoned shrimp, cream cheese and spicy mayonnaise. It has an irresistible explosion of flavors, thanks to the eel sauce, nevertheless, it was delicious and crunchy. We then tried the Avocado Balls, made with vinegar rice and fresh avocado. What we liked about this dish is its freshness and the wasabi and soy sauce served as the perfect accompaniments.
The next stop was the salmon Yaki Onigiri. The Japanese rice ball wrapped in nori (dried edible seaweed) was stuffed with grilled salmon and was additionally covered with soy sauce. The sticky rice was tasty enough on its own and the flaky salmon pieces were subtly flavored and grilled to perfection.
We also sampled the Shrimp Tempura Onigirazu — a Japanese-style sandwich — shaped like a triangle and suitable for shrimp lovers like us. Made with toppings like tempura shrimp, cucumber, lettuce, and spicy mayonnaise, the sandwich makes for a pretty delicious snack.
say it with soup
The last one was the Chicken Ramen, and we admit that was the highlight of the whole tasting. The tasty and light broth was a mixture of vegetables, grilled chicken, baby spinach, boiled corn and hard-boiled eggs. Made with flat noodles, the savory soup made us savor delicious bites!
