INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., January 7, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Sodexo live!, the primary hotel partner of North America’s leading sports entertainment venues, today announced a range of specialty menu items for Monday’s highly anticipated National College Football Playoff Championship between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Bulldogs. This is the first time the game will be played in Indianapolis, at a Lucas Oil Stadium that regularly ranks among the best stadiums in the NFL.
“This is a star-studded championship game, and we stand ready to provide championship-level hospitality for the enjoyment of both fan bases,” said Steve Pangburn, Sodexo Live! North America, Chief Executive Officer. “Our authentic Indianapolis cuisine, combined with our team-specific menu items, will ensure that no matter what the outcome of the action on the field is, every fan in attendance leaves with a pleasant and memorable taste of Indianapolis. “
From the fan experience in the Indiana Convention Center to outdoor event spaces, the easily walkable corridor of downtown Indianapolis will transform into a college football mecca for the weekend. The Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium will both be completely cashless for the festivities, and other food service safety protocols will be in place for the well-being of all fans and employees in attendance. Sodexo live! is known for serving up creative and exciting menu items and adding a memorable influx of hospitality for the world’s most notable events.
Bill Hancock, Executive Director of College Football Playoff, added, “The smart new menu items will be fun and tasty for college football fans.
Executive Chef Shimelis Adem’s new creations for Monday’s game will delight fans in Alabama and Georgia and help them make the most of the moment. Highlights of the menu include:
The Crimson Tide Dog: Toasted quarter pounder hot dog topped with pulled pork straws and onions, drizzled with a spicy barbecue sauce, served on a freshly baked bun.
Bulldog Shrimp Tacos: Freshly made tacos with grilled Cajun shrimp and grilled peaches, topped with peach pico and a peach crema sauce.
Each will be available in multiple general halls at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Other Indy-inspired dishes include Indiana Whiskey Sour Pork Wings, with locally sourced smoked pork with a whiskey-orange marmalade frosting; a Heartland Beer Cheese Steak Sandwich topped with Sun King Brewing Cheese Fondue; and a Hoosier Fried Chicken Sandwich with Chilli Cheese on a freshly baked brioche bun.
Old-fashioned grain bowls, peppers loaded with plant-based meat and mild chili frosting, and several salads are a handful of meatless options on hand. And for dessert in the premium spaces, there will be sugar cookies decorated with team logos and football themes created by Cute as a button, in Carmel, Ind., bakery.
Visiting fans are at the rendezvous for a weekend of events and activities scheduled for Playoff Fan Central at the Indiana Convention Center, where Sodexo Live! has also curated new additions to its menus including the Crimson Tide Dog and a special edition Bulldog Brisket Sliders.
